BackIn this video tutorial, I will show you how to add categories for products to your WooCommerce Shop. I will show you how to add both main and subcategories for your products.
Below, you can view a step-by-step video tutorial guide on how to set up product categories in your WooCommerce store.
Note: In this tutorial, I will be using the latest version of Flatsome WooCommerce Theme.
Add product categories in WooCommerce shop
Subcategories are completely optional and are often used when you have a lot of different product types in the main category.
For example, if you are selling men's clothes then the main category should be "Men's" and the subcategories should be "Men's Shoes", "Men's Jeans", Men's" Jumpers" and "Men's Accessories".
It would make more sense to add your products to the subcategories if you are using them in your WooCommerce store.
In theory, there should be no limit to the number of categories or subcategories you can add to your WooComemrce store, but it is worth planning out your category structure before you start adding them to your website. You can do this in an excel spreadsheet to a word document.
No plugin is required for setting up main categories or subcategories, this functionally is built directly into the WooComemrce plugin.
In the website admin control panel you can drag the categories into a specific order as required. Categories are displayed on the main shop pages in your specific order.
For the top navigation drop-down menu, you need to create and position the menu items using the menu builder in your website admin control panel for WooCommerce.
At DCP Web Designers we use the Flatsome Theme which allows us to customise a website shop for different types of products.
The theme you select will determine the amount of control you have over your website shop.
Faltsome is great for building custom eCommerce websites.

How to clone products in WooCommerce | WooCommerce 2022 Tutorial
In this video tutorial, I will show you how to clone products in WooCommerce. Cloning products in Woocommerce can save lots of data entry time. Once you have a product listing that is 100% correct you can simply clone the product to create more similar products. No additional plugins are required for making a copy of a product in WooCommerce, however, I would suggest installing the free Yoast Duplicate Post plugin, as this plugin will allow you to also duplicate blog posts and general pages on your WordPress website.
